Spokesman MTB is a personal blog site that I built so that I may be able to document my various bike adventures. I try to get out as often as I can (not as often as I would like), and I want to create an archive that documents the locations, people, and experiences I find along the way. I hope you enjoy your stay!
I was born in what would come to be known as Silicon Valley California. I grew up across the street from a prominent motocross family where I learned that I loved everything about bikes and dirt. Since we lived in suburban San Jose, we weren’t allowed to ride motocross in peoples’ yards, so we rode BMX. We rode it a lot.
I grew up bike commuting (I didn’t get my driver’s license until I was 26 – by choice) and riding for leisure throughout my 20s and 30s. I raced cross country for about a decade and also participated in a few marathons and triathlons. My trusty mountain bike was always waiting for me in the garage, and it always seemed to be the place I went when I really wanted to get a FUN ride in. So here I am.
I am lucky to have grown up in bicycling’s most prominent era and in a location close to where mountain biking was born. I love to ride, and I have some of the world’s most amazing trails right here in my own backyard. I want to share those locations and experiences with you, the public.
Please leave comments and let me know if there is anything about the site that you like, dislike, or think could use some more work.
Happy riding!
