I have been using GoPro cameras for many years. Now I get to play with the Hero 9 Black.
As the proud owner of a new Ibis Ripmo v2, I wanted my first ride to be one for the books. To that end, I called my Patrick, riding buddy, and we met at the Soquel Demonstration Forest lot to ride the Flow Trail.
I have been looking for ways to research the bike that would eventually replace my beloved 2016 Santa Cruz Bronson CC. I was looking to buy a top-level bike in the next few months, and I wanted my purchase to be an informed one.
On a rare sunny day in early March, I took a few hours to run out to my local trailhead and shake things up just a little bit. I reversed the direction of my typical ride and got humbled by climbing up my “downhill” trail.
As a video nerd, I’m always curious about the latest hardware. When a new camera hits the stores, it takes a much stronger man than I to just watch other people use it. So I created an excuse to purchase the new GoPro Hero 8 Black.
To celebrate my history as a super nerd, and to celebrate the opening of the very last film in the “Skywalker Saga”, I thought I would post a little bit of history regarding my adventures in line for the Star Wars prequels over 20 years ago.
Since I still have almost all of the original production files, I have decided to quickly replace the audio tracks with stock music from Youtube Audio Library. I’m also fixing some of the issues that made those old videos hard to watch.
I have been climbing up Overgrown (AKA Limekiln Trail) pretty much since I started mountain biking (that’s over 30 years, by the way). It is a great, shaded climb on a hot day. Starting at the banks of Lexington Reservoir in Los Gatos, California, it carries you up to some great views of the south San Francisco Bay Area.
An easy ride from the top of Soquel Demo down to the town of Aptos, CA.
